The big derby was eventually settled by the boot of Will Carrington after Borough had battled back from 13-3 to draw level towards the end of the match.

Carrington also opened the scoring with a penalty before Borough equalised with a penalty of their own from Matt Newman.

Tries from Joe Roberts and Grant Snelling - both unconverted - gave Oundle a decent lead, but Borough hit back with two unconverted tries of their own from Newman and Luis Smedley. The city side were helped by two yellow cards for the home side.

But Carrington had the last word as Oundle made it three wins in four league matches and a healthy fifth place in the table.

Borough have lost three of their four matches and sit 10th in a 14-team division.
