Torringtontop rod on the Horseshoe

It was a calm and sunny day for Remembrance Sunday when the club fished for the Remembrance Shield, but with the recent heavy rain and cold nights the fishing was far from easy.

Clear winner was Ray Torrington fishing peg 18 and using a pellet feeder tight to the far bank alternating between hair rigged pop-up boilies, bread and pellet to finish with an all-carp catch of 33lb.

JVAC

The Oak Pool at Decoy Lakes fished well for the JVAC lads on Sunday, albeit from the noted hot pegs.

Leading the way from peg 21 was Terry Tribe. He caught on a straight lead approach with banded pellet on the hook for a very respectable 137lb 7oz.

In fact, Andy Kelk on the very next peg came close to pipping him at the post, but fell just short with 129lb 7oz. He caught on the long pole with pellet.

On the opposite bank was Alan Warren on peg nine. He fished red maggot for 96lb 13oz.

DECOY OPEN

The Decoy Open match was on the Yew Pool which saw Clive Cole put 96lb 11oz to the scales to take the honours. He drew peg 11 and caught on the pole with sweetcorn.

Neil Adcock came in second from peg 15, again most fish coming to the pole, but he fished pellet.

Third was Simon Godfrey with 81lb 10oz, mostly caught on red maggot.

WEBB’S AC

Sunday’s Webb’s AC match at Float Fish Farm saw Yaxley rod Mick Linnell continue his rich vein of form.

He put 24lb 14oz to the scales on the Horseshoe Pool with all of his fish falling to a Method feeder with a popped up pellet hook bait.

Just behind with 22lb 15oz was Ray Gregory then came John Brody on 11lb 10oz.
