Deepings Swimming Club member Lottie Bussey won a silver medal in her half-mile age group race at the Swim Serpentine open water event.
Overall she finished 25th out of 303 competitors in an excellent time of 15mins 12secs, capping a fine first season of open-water competition.
Now in its third year, Swim Serpentine is an open-water festival staged at the Serpentine Lake in Hyde Park, London. In total 6,000 swimmers participated.
Speaking shortly after her successful swim, Lottie said: “I have really enjoyed my first season of open water swimming. All the training I have done at Deepings Swimming Club has really paid off. I have taken part in the London Aquathon and Swim Rutland, but this is my best achievement so far. I am looking forward to next season and improving my times even more.”
