Disappointment all round with the appointment of Mark Warburton as the new manager of Scottish Championship club Rangers.
Warburton’s stock couldn’t have been higher in England after his amazing achievement in getting Brentford to the English Championship play-offs last season.
Surely a bigger job beckoned, but instead clubs like Watford and West Ham hire foreign coaches and ignore the talent on their doorstep.
I’m also frustrated that Warburton took on such an easy appointment rather than test himself with a much bigger challenge. Brentford would win the Scottish Championship so if Rangers sort themselves out in the summer they will be nailed on for promotion. It just won’t mean anything on a CV.
