I didn’t even switch England’s game v Lithuania on last Friday night. What would have been the point? The result was as predictable as the rest of this qualifying campaign and there was never any chance of a Roy Hodgson side playing scintillating football and keeping me entertained.
Once he declined to start Harry Kane (above) I lost interest. That boy is going to be a star.
I did enjoy Wales winning in Israel though. I’m naturally anti any country with an inferiority complex regarding England, but Gareth Bale deserves to grace a major tournament.
International qualification football has become extremely non-competitive though.
I didn’t even get excited when Gibraltar scored against Scotland, although I did laugh out loud.
