It baffles me in football that the people who make terrible decisions regarding managers keep getting the opportunity to appoint the next one as well.
It smacks of arrogance and blame-shifting.
Stuart Lancaster’s departure as England coach is now inevitable, but, will the misguided individual who thought a six year-contract taking us to the 2019 World Cup for a coach who has won naff all was a great idea, leave as well?
Of course not. Expect bumbling RFU chief executive Ian Ritchie to carry on even though he can’t carry the confidence of any rugby union fan, apart from Australian and Welsh ones.
Rob Andrew will also carry on as Professional Rugby Director at the RFU even though he thinks peaking two years after a home World Cup is over is acceptable.
