The knives were out for Dave Robertson at the weekend. A run of five wins in seven games, after taking over a dispirited team in freefall, is not good enough for some.
I remember chairman Chris Turner making Mick Halsall the permanent Posh manager straight after a defeat.
I’m not suggesting that happens now, but if Posh lost every game this season, Robertson (above)would still be deserving of much credit for turning around a side with so many issues so quickly.
The problem he has is the style of football Posh are now playing.
When long balls and channel balls are the main attacking tactics you need to keep winning or criticism comes thicker and faster.
Just ask Sam Allardyce , or even Louis Van Gaal.
