1) James Milner is a good signing for Liverpool given his versatility. A manager’s and players’ player, but not a crowd pleaser. Danny Ings has probably been studied by defenders hence the drying up of goals. No superstar status for this lad.
2) The Champions League is now for paying punters only it seems. Taking it away from terrestrial TV is a crime in itself. Not everyone can stretch to paying extra during this time of austerity government. Big shame but money rules the roost...again.
3) Jose Mourinho does like seasoned third strikers...see Samuel Eto’o and Didier Drogba so don’t write the possible signing of Radamel Falcao off.
Diego Costa and Falcao were together at Atletico Madrid so a link up could be just what Falcao needs to kick start his career after injury. At 29, and under Jose, this could well be the signing of the season after being written off by many.
Your piece on non-league players regularly changing clubs for money made me laugh.
Any truth in the rumour that a step six club offered someone a three-figure fee to join them?
It’s a disgrace what you are doing to Jack Payne, leading the fans to believe that he was the cause of last season’s rubbish.
The chairman promised Payne and the fans Championship football, but instead nearly all the good players are sold and replaced by poor non-league players. The captain is then blamed for a poor season.
Next we have over 200 applicants for the manager’s job and the chairman chooses Dave Robertson, again a poor choice.
I won’t be wasting my my money watching next season.
