In the Saturday Open he topped the field with 43lb 8oz from peg 32 with most of his fish falling to a small feeder.

Runner-up was Mark Barron with 33lb 10oz followed by Richard Varney on a level 33lb.

School boy star Harry Murphy topped the Peterborough DAA Open match on Overton Lake at Ferry Meadows with a magnificent 80lb 2oz net of bream from peg 16. Runner-up with 21lb 8oz was Neil Truman.

HADDON LODGE

It’s still tough going at Haddon Lodge.Matchwinner on Sunday was Martin Harwood with a modest 10lb 7oz.

Lucio Melillo Senior came in second on 9lb 12oz, followed by Tony Moulds on 7lb 12oz.

OVER 60s

Jay Lake at Rookery Waters hosted the latest Over 60s match which saw John Belshaw leading the way with 81lb 2oz from peg 11. He caught on bread and corn.

Runner-up was Tony Dawson with 72lb 4oz, then came Mick Curtis on 50lb 10oz in third place.
