Peterborough Lions Rugby Club from Bretton Park and Peterborough Town Cricket Club from Bretton Gate are two of the finalists in the Team of the Year category and both would make deserving winners.
The Lions stormed to the Midlands Division One title in 2014 to win a place in the National League and they won the East Midlands Cup for the first time.
And Town, who won the award 12 months ago, had a fabulous year too, retaining the Northant League Premier Division title and winning through to the semi-finals of the national 20/20 competition.
Hoping to upset the applecart will be the powerful Pererborough BCKA kick-boxing club.
They were runners-up in 2013 and have been voted into the top three again by Peterborough Telegraph readers on the strength of an even better 2014.
They won stacks of British titles last year, a handful of European crowns and returned from the World Championships in Portugal with 18 medals.
Peterborough BCKA also feature in four other finals.
Their head coach Andy Whitwell defends the Coach of the Year title, reigning Junior Sportswoman of the Year Freya Molloy is back again, Leon Gold is in the top three for Sportsman of the Year and Eddy Paddock is a Junior Sportsman of the Year finalist.
The big Sports Personality of the Year prize will go to either bowls star Nicky Brett, Town Cricket Club skipper Lewis Bruce or Robin Vitas from Ketton Cricket Club.
