Spoilt for choice for quality stillwaters
With the river season drawing to a close on March 14, anglers will be on the lookout for stillwaters in the area to wet a line over the next few months.
We certainly have a good selection of waters on our doorstep and already Float Fish Farm Fishery is producing big catfish and some fine carp.
Local rod Devin Whitwell caught a fine looking specimen going to the scales at 20lb 13oz at the weekend.
He went several hours without a bite, but he was well rewarded for his patience.
Several other waters are also starting to run into form with the likes of East Delph, Northey Park, Railway Lakes and of course Bluebell Lakes all big fish waters worth a visit.
Peterborough & DAA match organiser Mike Smith will be running a Charity Match on both lakes at Ferry Meadows in aid of Thorpe Hall, Peterborough.
The match is to be held on Saturday May 13 and will be a maximum 80 pegs. So you will need to get in touch with Mike as soon as possible as I am sure it’s going to be a sell-out event.
Closing date for entry is Saturday May 6, so to book your place email [email protected]
