Tom's fine season cutcruelly short
Bacon suffered a ‘burst fracture’ in his back when crashing heavily while riding for National League club Birmingham at Mildenhall last Saturday night.
The 25 year-old remains in Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge after undergoing surgery earlier this week and he now faces a lengthy recovery process.

“My main aim now is to get myself and all my machinery ready for next season.
“I did a lot of damage to my equipment - as well as my body – in the crash. My bike is a complete write-off, while my kevlars and my protective clothing all had to be cut off.
“There will be a lot of time and expense in getting everything back to normal.”
Bacon has placed on record his thanks to the medical staff at Mildenhall who treated him in the aftermath of the crash.
