Peterborough Panthers number one Craig Cook will battle for World Cup glory this Saturday (July 30).
Cook made the cut for the Great Britain squad who go straight through to the final at the new National Speedway Stadium in Manchester - his home Elite League track - as hosts.
The 29 year-old features alongside two-time world champion Tai Woffinden, reigning British champion Danny King and hot young prospect Robert Lambert in the GB side selected by team boss Alun Rossiter.
Cook said: “I’m delighted to be part of the team and I thoroughly believe we have as good a chance as anyone else.
“We have a team that is young, ambitious and very determined to succeed.
“I’m relishing the opportunity and I’m sure the other boys are as well.”
Great Britain will face Poland after they won Event One in Denmark last Saturday (July 23).
Event Two is tomorrow night (July 26) in Sweden with the winners of that event featuring the host nation, Australia, Germany and America going straight through to the final.
The second and third-placed finishers will then join Denmark and Russia in a Friday-night race-off, also at the National Speedway Stadium, to fight for the remaining two places in the final.
