Dryml puts Holub on the right track

The 20 year-old reserve has delivered plenty of glimpses of his potential during his first two meetings for the city club.

He began his Peterborough career with a paid four-point haul as they beat Glasgow earlier this month and he followed up with paid five as Plymouth were brushed aside on Tuesday night.

And he admits the advice of fellow countryman Ales Dryml, who had several spells in Panthers colours between 2004 and 2014, has been invaluable.

Holub said: “I’m already very happy to be riding for Peterborough.

“I like the track even though I have had two crashes in three meetings here. It is big and fast and that suits me.

“I spoke a lot with Ales before I signed. He let me know some secrets about the track and how to set my bike up.

“I am pleased to be scoring some points for the team but I hope to do more.”

Holub suffered an arm injury when tangling with then-Panthers man Michael Palm Toft during his first-ever lap of the Showground track.

He was riding for Scunthorpe on that night back in March, but was released by the Scorpions while recuperating.

Holub was involved in another spectacular spill against Plymouth after tangling with Kyle Newman as they battled for second spot in heat seven.

Holub was able to walk away from the fourth-bend crash and continue in the meeting whereas Newman was withdrawn with a suspected collar-bone injury.
