Full 2015 fixture list: Peterborough Panthers hope their new era will begin with a bang – courtesy of the best of British.

The curtain goes up on the 2015 season when the Readypower Panthers take on a Great Britain team in a mouth-watering Challenge clash on Sunday, March 15 with the competitive action beginning a week later.

New number one Olly Allen faces a quick reunion with the club he raced for in 2014 as Somerset travel to the East of England Showground for the first Premier League Cup fixture of the campaign on Sunday, March 22.

That is the first of eight meetings in the Southern Group of a competition in which Readypower Panthers reached the final last season.

They will face the Rebels, Rye House, Ipswich and Plymouth home and away with only the group winners guaranteed to advance to the semi-final stage.

Once again they will meet East Anglian rivals Ipswich twice on Good Friday (April 3) with an afternoon trip to Foxhall followed by an evening showdown at the Showground, while a hectic period also includes an Easter Monday trip to Rye House on April 6.

Panthers will also face Plymouth in the opening round of the KO Cup with ties being scheduled around the Spring Bank Holiday weekend in May.

Panthers are scheduled to start their Premier League programme with a home outing against a highly-touted Sheffield team on Friday, April 17.

Their first away test in the league is the following week at Redcar.

Club supremo Rathbone said: “The visit of Somerset has the makings of a very tough start to the season against a team who are perennial challengers for honours at this level.

“It will be a stern test and the boys are well aware of the need to set their stall out early on.

“We have ambitions to win silverware and that means we have a job to do from the first meeting of the season to the last in the League Cup, the KO Cup and the league.

“I am yet to read or hear anyone say anything negative about our team. We are confident we have put a good side together and we have to go out and prove it on the track.”

Supporters are reminded that season tickets remain on sale until the end of January. An application form can be downloaded at www.peterboroughpanthers.co/ticketoffice.

Readypower Panthers will stage their annual Press & Practice session on Thursday, March 12 with a pre-season social evening pencilled in for the following night (Friday, March 13)
