SNOOKER: Perry sets up semi-final clash with Rocket Ronnie

Perry reeled off five frames in a row to win his quarter-final in Cardiff last night (February 19) 5-1 against last year’s losing finalist Ben Wollaston.

The Chatteris cueman enjoyed top breaks of 50, 57, 74 & 71 against Wollaston, but he will have to up his game even more to have a chance against the imperious O’Sullivan.

Perry said; “It was a good open game tonight which is my kind of snooker. It will be a great occasion toonight and I want to perform, although I might still get a kicking. I will get chances and I have to put Ronnie under pressure because no one has done that yet.

“He’s playing as well as anyone ever has and that is daunting. I will try to play to the best of my ability. I’m bound to be nervous – I always am – but sometimes that works in your favour.”

Perry has already banked £20k for reaching the last four. The winners picks up £60k and te runner-up £30k.

Australian Neil Robertson and Northern Irishman Mark Allen contest the other semi-final this afternoon.
