SNOOKER: Brilliant Perry storms into the World Grand Prix semi-final

Joe Perry's brilliant form at the World Grand Prix in Llandudno continued as he stormed into the semi-finals today (March 11),

Perry cruised to a comfortable 4-1 quarter-final win over fellow Englishman Ali Carter to set up a semi-final showdown with current World Champion Stuart Bingham or Ryan Day tomorrow (March 12).

Perry took the first frame against Carter and then reeled off three frames in a row to ease through. The Fenland Potter compiled breaks of 87 and 66 in frames three and four extensively.

Perry said: “I felt comfortable. I wanted to play positively and it worked out for me.”

Perry has now won 12 and lost just two frames in his three matches so far. He despatched Barry Hawkins 4-0 and Kyren Wilson 4-1 in his two previous matches,

Perry has locked up £20K in prize money for reaching the last four. The winner of the title receivess £100K with the runner-up picking up £35K.

Day takes on Bingham later tonight.
