RUTLAND LEAGUE: First defeat for Nassington, only Bourne remain unbeaten
Peter Foster (93) and Mark Hodgson (79) scored big in Oundle’s 224 all out and their bowlers strangled the Nassington reply so effectively the home side finished 29 runs short despite losing just seven wickets.
Conor Craig’s departure for a flamboyant 63 started the Nassington rot, although Adam McDermott (45) and Alex Bandaranaike (25) also batted well. Bandaranaike had also bowled well, taking 5-16 in a losing cause. Joe Charlton (4-60) returned Oundle’s best bowling figures.

Hide AdBourne now boast the only unbeaten record in the top flight, a record they maintained with a crushing 166-run success at neighbours Market Deeping.
Bourne and Deeping have met four times already this season in various competitions and the former have won on every occasion. Max Collins bagged his debut ton for the club in the latest victory and there was yet another century for regular run scorer Pete Morgan as Bourne amassed 282-6 in their 45 overs. Deeping import Zac Simmonds conceded 100 runs from his 12 overs.
Deeping were skittled for 116 in reply despite 51 from teenager Pat Harrington. Tom Dixon claimed 5-15 for Bourne.
After a slow start to the season, Stamford Town have now won three in a row. Ufford Park were their latest victims by a seven-wicket margin.

Peterborough Town and Barnack claimed their second wins of the summer. Town beat Wisbech by three runs in a decent game at Bretton Gate, while Barnack were more convincing winners by 68 runs at home to struggling reigning champions Uppingham.
Scott Howard struck his highest first team score of 78 not out for Town in their 216-8 with Aussie Jack Hargreaves stranded on 64 not out for Wisbech as they closed on 213. Howard also ran danger man Gary Freear out with a direct hit. Town skipper Jamie Smith picked up five wickets for Town.
Mohammed Hammed cracked 103 of Barnack’s 223-8. Uppingham have lost every game this season, a season after winning the title for the first time.
