After a week’s break Borough return to English Clubs Championship action on Saturday with a tough home game against high-flying Melton Mowbray in Midlands Division Two East (3pm).

The Leicestershire outfit were promoted last season and so far have continued to thrive, winning three out of three.

However, Borough will be keen to bounce back after a disappointing defeat last time out at Market Harborough.

Final selection will be made after training tonight (Thursday), but it is likely head coach Lee Adamson will shuffle his squad around and give a few lads the chance to prove themselves after watching some good performances in last week’s second team game.

Definitely missing will be Adam Kimber (injured) and Adam Whiles (unavailable) but there could be opportunities for a few others as well.

Vice-chairman Archie Bennett said: “Our coaching team has a process that they are keen to follow, and if players are training, and putting in a good shift in the second team then they will get their chance.

“It is another great example of the new ethos in our club, where we want to be seen to be providing everyone with a fair chance of staking their claim for a first team berth.

“I also watched our second team narrowly lose to S&L’s first team last week and there were some encouraging displays.”
