Borough must learn to take their chances.
For the second weekend running they dominated for long spells against one of the better teams in Midlands Division Two East (South) but for little reward.
They spent three-quarters of the first half at Oadby in the opposition 22 yet all they had to show for their efforts were two Joe Andresen penalties and they ended up losing the game 7-6. Instead of four points they only got one.
The week before it was a similar story against leaders Northampton Old Scouts at Fengate.
Borough ruled the roost for the entire second half but could only draw 15-15.
“We’re doing everything right apart from taking our chances,” said vice-chairman Archie Bennett. “And it’s costing us dear.
“If we’d have turned pressure into points against Old Scouts and Oadby we’d be comfortable in mid-table instead of occupying a relegation spot.
“Hopefully we can get a much-needed win at home to Oakham on Saturday.
“We should be unchanged for the first time this season and that in itself will give us a boost.
“We are good enough to finish mid-table and I’m confident we’ll do just that.”
