Peterborough travel to meet the in-form team in Midlands Division Two East (South) on Saturday when they visit Oadby Wyggestonians.

The Leicestershire side are enjoying a superb run having lost just once in their last eight league outings.

But Borough will make the trip in confident mood after doing so well against high-flying Northampton Old Scouts at Fengate a fortnight ago.

They held the leaders to a 15-15 draw and were only denied a deserved victory by a controversial penalty decision deep into injury time.

“We outscored the best side in the league by three tries to nil,” said vice-chairman Archie Bennett.

“We deserved to win that game and we showed what we can do when we apply ourselves properly.

“We will need to repeat that level of skill and commitment against Oadby, and having had a well earned rest last week, we are good to go again on Saturday.

“We now have a few very important weeks coming up and we need to be prepared to battle for every point until the end of the season.”

Although holding Old Scouts to a draw, Borough have slipped back into the bottom three again and will be busting a gut to move out of the relegation zone on Saturday.

Second row Ben Crooks suffered rib damage against Old Scouts and is unlikely to travel.

But on the plus side both tricky centre Tomasso Lotti and exciting young full-back Rob Jacobs are available again to rejoin the squad.
