England weren’t the only team celebrating a Grand Slam at the weekend - Borough Under 16s also achieved the feat.
They added the East Counties Cup to their impressive trophy haul this season when beating Colchester 39-22 in the final with David Braga scoring a hat-trick of tries.
They had already won the East Midlands Cup, the Cambridgeshire County Cup and the East Midlands Premier Division title.
“Our cups runneth over!” said the club’s junior chairman Matt Throne. “This Under 16 squad is made up of 32 excellent players supported by five top-class junior coaches, many of whom have have been working together for over 10 years.
“It is a credit to all concerned at Fengate that local talent can be supported to such a high level while maintaining a ‘fun-first’ approach across its 13-Fengate based squads from Under 6 to Under 16s – including a growing number of young ladies sides, further extending Borough’s thriving mini and junior rugby programme.”
