Soon after, the PRC backline got in on the act as new centre Will Wand sat his opposite number down with a mean hand-off to break through for a great individual try.

The PRC backs continued to threaten with their pace and handling skills and fly-half Hudson Rees-Jones was the next to cross.

A fourth Peterborough try arrived just before the interval courtesy of another new player, full-back Charlie Beecham, who used some great footwork to get around the outside of the defence.

The home side fought back gamely in the second half and retained the ball well which led to the first score of the second half.

PRC were on the ropes for a while but aggressive defence denied the Bedforshire boys any further points and the game concluded with two more scores from Hudson Rees-Jones as he completed his hat-trick.
