ROWING: No luck of the draw for Camilla
The Henley Women’s Regatta attracts crews from all over the world to race on the Thames and Peterborough were represeneted by a women’s eight and by Camilla Plumb in the senior lightweight singles sculls.
The eight was affected by several last-minute changes and substitutions yet, despite this, they rowed well and missed out on qualification for the heats by just over a second.

Hide AdPlumb easily finished in the top half of the 30 entrants in the time trial to qualifyy for the heats.
But there she was unlucky to be drawn against last year’s runner-up Ellyce Stehlin from New Zealand.
Plumb did take an early lead and held her advantage for most of the race. But Stehlin made her way past the Peterborough sculler over the last few hundred metres to win and progress to the quarter-finals.
Peterborough City Rowing Club’s Junior Regatta is on Saturday (June 25) with racing from 8.30am-5.45pm.
