City held on to win a thriller on the road at Harleston last weekend to make it two wins from three matches.

Remarkably City are only seventh in the 12-team table, but they would expect to improve that position tomorrow, as long as their attitude is spot on.

“The game at Harleston epitomised our great team spirit. Everyone pulled their weight and we deserved to win. Not many teams manage to win at Harleston.

“Chelmsford lost several players in the summer and have endured a difficult start, but they are always tough to beat at home.”

City welcome Aussie forward Robbie Muir back to the club this weekend, although he is carrying ain injury.

Last season City enjoyed a club record run to the semi-finals of the country’s premier knockout competition.

But they’ll behard pressed to repeat than run as they’ve been paired with National Premier Division side Reading in a second round tie tie to be played at Bretton Gate on Sunday, October 30.

Reading have won the cup five times, but not since 2004.

City of Peterborough Ladies are one of three teams with perfect winning records in East Division One North after three games. They should extend that proud record when hosting Harleston seconds tomorrow (1pm start)>

Spalding men preserved their 100 per cent record in the Premier B Division last weekend with a hard fought 4-3 win at Blueharts. Shaun Cunnington claimed all four goals.

City of Peterborough seconds are not far adrift in third after despatching Havering 5-3. Paul Hillsdon bagged a hat-trick.

Things are not going so well for City thirds who went down to a third straight defeat in Division One, 2-1 at high-flying Shefford & Sandy. Aaron Angus scored the City goal.

Bourne Deeping are hitting their stride in this division. They thumped bottom club Norwich City seconds 7-0 with Stuart Biggs scoring twice.
