Phantoms riders finish the season in fine style

There was a great end to the season for the Peterborough Phantoms BMX Club at the East Anglian Open Championships at Braintree last weekend.

Four of their riders were crowned East Anglian champions and three more finished as runners-up.

Joseph Carey crowned a superb season by taking the Male 13yrs title with another dominant display that saw him win all three of his motos (heats) before scorching to success in the A final.

The other three title wins came from the senior trio of Leah Pearson (Ladies cruiser 30+), Darren Putland (Male cruiser 30-39) and Paul Maidment (Male cruiser 50+).

The three runners-up were George Fox (Male 7yrs), Liam Arnett (Male 9yrs) and Owen Putland (Male 12yrs) while Marcus Holt took third place in the Male 16yrs category.
