PETERBOROUGH TOWN CC: Bans on three players are lifted
Three Peterborough Town players have seen their Northants League suspensions lifted following a successful appeal.
Second team captain Bob Milne had been given a two-week ban for failing to control his players in a Division One match earlier this season. Second team players Daniel Oldham and Kieran Judd had been suspended for one week apiece after being found guilty of dissent.
But Town argued Milne’s exemplary record in several seasons as a Bretton Gate captain should have been taken into account. They also argued that Oldham and Judd, two players with no history of ill discipline, had been treated harshly after they were punished for leaving the field too slowly following lbw decisions.
It’s understood Town first-team behaviour in a Premier Division match against Oundle earlier in the season is also under scrutiny from the league disciplinary committee.
But Town are confident potential dissent charges against star all-rounder Lewis Bruce and wicket-keeper Chris Milner will not lead to bans.
