Perry sparkles to win the Webb'smatch at Pode Hole

Webb's AC fished the pretty little Lake Ross fishery at Pode Hole on Sunday and with some very good weights taken right around the lake, no-one was sure who had won until the results were read out.

In top spot with 135lb 15oz was Andy Perry, who caught well all day fishing a small Method feeder with pellet.

Coming in a very close second was Ted Rowe with a net of carp taken on the pole up in the water on pellet for 135lb 11oz, then it was Marcus Bailey with 110lb 4oz.

The latest Peterborough & District AA members match was held on the Roman Bank on the Overton Lake at Ferry Meadows on Sunday.

This was not the best day for bream fishing with clear skies and little wind. However, most anglers did manage to put fish to the scales.

At the end of the day Graham Page took the honours with 23lb 10oz on peg 18.

Second was Chris Toon on peg 14 with 14lb 5oz, followed by Paul Dotchin with 12lb on peg 20.

DEEPING ST JAMES

Deeping St James members fished the second round of the SHCS at Gedney on the Match Lake at North View Fishery and the match also doubled up with the Committee Cup, which is fished for by the club’s committee members only.

The winner was Antony Johnson on peg three. He fished the whole day at 11 metres up in the water to make up a winning weight of 138lb 11oz.

Second was Chris Wheatley with 117lb 15oz from peg 12 abd third was Kevin Crompton on peg 14 with 109lb 9oz.

The Committee Cup winner was Ray Torrington with 73lb 2oz.

WHITTLESEY AA

Kingsland’s small carp lake was the venue for the latest Whittlesey AA club match which saw Andy Lawrence put a fine 216lb 8oz to the scales.

He caught really well at the start short on meat over micro pellets and contined to catch short later with a change to paste on the hook.

Dave White finished second with a 135lb catch on the pole with meat. Andy Bull was third with108lb.

TUESDAY CLUB

The Tuesday Club’s latest match on the popular lake at Haddon Lodge was won by Geoff Tuttlebee with 24lb 4oz - a net of fish made up almost equally of silver fish and carp.

Second was Frank Bevilacqua with15lb, third was Ron Needham with 14lb and fourth Alan Jopling with 13lb.

On Sunday weights were just as good. This time Bevilacqua went one better, topping the field with 33lb 7oz, a net of carp taken close in with pellet.

Runner-up was Lucio Melillo, who caught on pellet fished shallow for 21lb 2oz.

Martin Harwood finished third on 15lb 8oz.

COCK INN

Cock Inn fished Lou’s Lake at Decoy with Chris Shortland leading the way from peg six with 111lb. All his fish were taken on the Method feeder with pellets.

Runner-up was Bob Mills with 95lb 11oz from peg 11 and third Burt Currie on peg 10 with 88lb 11oz.
