Pearson stands out in the wind and rain

Matchwinner Dave Pearson made light work of the wet and windy conditions in the latest JVAC match fished on the Six Island Pool at Decoy topping a strong field with a fine 98lb 8oz.

Drawn on peg 12, he alternated between the feeder and pole with pellet netting carp to 8lb.

Second was Jay Richardson, who fished the pole from unfancied corner peg nine and weighed in 47lb. Mike Mitchell was third with 42lb 8oz.

Whittlesey rod Simon Godfrey won the Rookery Waters Open on Saturday, topping a small, but strong field.

Using bread and corn, he managed to catch 61lb 4oz.

Runner-up Mick Morris used similar tactics to the winner for 53lb 5oz, then came Lee Marlow with 39lb 14oz.
