National athletics call-up for local schoolboys
Star athletes Freddie Fraser of Arthur Mellows Village College and Bourne Grammar school pupil Will Kong have been selected for the prestigious National Youth Talent Programme.
The former Nene Valley pair, who now compete for Huntingdon AC at under 17 level, will work towards a Diploma in Sporting Excellence and will be supported with their athletics through to the senior ranks.
Last year Fraser topped the UK rankings over 60m hurdles and has previously won English schools indoors and outdoors championships.
Kong won his first international vest last year in the 400m hurdles, an event in which he was ranked second in the country.
