A Peterborough girl won two silver medals fighting for Great Britain at the WMAC (World Martial Arts Council) World Games in Norwich.

Lorena Ismail, aged eight, twice finished a runner-up and narrowly missed out on a gold medal in one of her two categories, with a split decision from the judges going against her.

It’s been a great year for the little fighter, who goes by the name of ‘Lightning Lou’. In the last 12 months she has won 10 gold medals, nine silvers and five bronze medals at national competitions.

She claimed her first national title at the prestigious Watford Open in January and a British title at the WFMC British Championships in February. She was crowned Peterborough Grand Champion at the end of 2014 and is training hard to scoop this title again in October.

Lorena, who is sponsored by Mad Dogs Clothing, is currently the only female member of the Brotherhood Kickboxing club and trains under chief instructor Rob Bulpin four times a week.
