It was a happy homecoming for skipper Lewis Bruce who used to play club cricket on one of the most attactive grounds on the circuit.

The Peterborough Town all-rounder helped rescue Cambs from 75-5 and 107-6 with a fine innings of 60 and then took 2-11 from six overs as the hosts were reduced to 108-6 by the close, still 120 behind Cambs’ 228.

It was also an excellent day for Peterborough’s Joe Dawborn who cracked an important 31 low down the Cambs order and bagged 3-36 with the ball.

The match continues today (Augist 15) and is due to finish tomorrow.
