MATCH REPORT: It was hard work for City of Peterborough at Cambridge University
City beat the students 5-2 on the opening day of the East Premier A Division, but they had to come from behind to seal a place in the third round.
City looked a little rusty off the back of a cancelled fixture last Saturday followed by a cancelled midweek training session, both falling foul of frost.

Hide AdThe University were the better side in the first half, taking an early lead through a deceptively struck open play shot which deceived City ‘keeper Cameron Goodey.
City gradually got into their stride, and Ben Read put them back on equal terms, before the students scored a further goal from the second phase of a short corner for a deserved 2-1 half time lead.
City were a different side in the second half, getting an early equaliser through a second Read goal following a short corner break down, and then taking the lead for the first time from another short corner conversion from Joe Finding.
City then saw out the game professionally despite a string of late University short corners, well defended including forcing a couple of fine saves from Goodey.
