There was a good turnout for the first match organised by Abbi Kendal to raise funds for the England Ladies team.

And the March ace won her own match in fine style.

These Friday evening matches at Rookery Waters are going to be cracking little events if this one is anything to go by.

The fish were close in on lots of pegs and Abbi took full advantage bagging 122lb all taken on the pole with meat.

Runner-up was Rob Wright, who fished similar tactics for 119lb 8oz. Third was Kieran Payne with 106lb.

In the Decoy Lakes Saturday open on the Elm and Cedar pools it was Richard Bond leading the way with a huge 196lb 6oz net of carp taken on the pole with pellet up in the water from the Cedar Pool.

Similar tactics put Jimmy Brooks in second place just short on 189lb 15oz. Third place went to Neil Clark on 150lb.

Most of the anglers were back on the same two lakes for the Sunday open match which saw Steve Roberts finish top with 157lb 12oz. He fished a short pole line with sweetcorn.

Nigel Baxter came in second on 131lb 14oz, followed by Paul Ricketts with 124lb 7oz.
