Sawtry’s Lauren Steadman made it a hat-trick of European Paratriathlon Championship wins in Geneva at the weekend.
She stormed to glory in the PT4 race for the third successive year by completing the 750m swim, 20.4km cycle and 5km run in a total time of 1:06.40.
And Great Britain completd a clean sweep of the medals with Faye McClelland second in 1:09.58 and Clare Cunningham third in 1:11.09 - the same finishing order as at the World Championships last year.
The victorious Steadman said: “My swim was good and I found a rhythm.
“Overall it was really good, but I would still like to improve on the bike a bit.
“I knew the other British girls would be hot on my heels and it’s great for Britain to get the top three.”
Steadman is now the current British, European and world champion, and she added: “I’m really happy to have all of the titles, but you’re never certain about what’s round the corner, you can never settle for where you are.”
