Joe Perry was beaten by world champion Stuart Bingham after a thrilling semi-final in the Ladbrokes World Grand Prix in Llandudno this afternoon (March 12).
The Chatteris cueman was edged out 6-5 by Bingham after a cracking clash in which fortunes fluctuated throughout.
Perry, who also reached the last four of the Welsh Open last month, got off to a superb start and raced into a 3-0 lead.
But Bingham bounced back to level at 3-3 before Perry staged a brilliant comeback in frame seven, coming from 60-0 down to nick it 69-60 with a break of 62.
Bingham struck next assisted by a 97 break to make it 4-4 before Perry smashed in a 53 break to go 5-4 up.
But the last two frames went Bingham’s way and he made it through to tomorrow’s £100,000 final. There he’ll play the winner of tonight’s second semi-final featuring Shaun Murphy and Ding Junhui.
