Jackson gets England trial

Local pool player Jackson Andrews has earned himself an England trial.

Although only just turned 15, the Deepings School pupil will be aiming to win a place in the England Under 18 squad when he attends the trials in Leicester on January 10 and 11.

It’s the second year Andrews has qualified for the trials.

Last year he just missed out by a frame after playing with a broken thumb - an injury he sustained in the last cricket match of the season. Andrews is also a useful left-arm spinner who plays for Market Deeping Cricket Club.

Two years ago Andrews won the national CYP Under 14 pool title.

He is a Lincolnshire county player and also a very useful snooker player in the Spalding Snooker League.
