The Peterborough Harriers’ men’s volleyball team have just completed their best ever season by finishing top of National League Division Three.

They beat Cambridge VC & Anglia Ruskin University 3-0 and then RAF Harriers 3-1 to win a place in Division Two next season.

“These results marked a successful end to a challenging 2014/2015 season for the Peterborough Harriers’ men’s squad,” said team coach Vytoldas Mockus.

“I am extremely happy for the team and hope we can build on this success. I have already set the boys the task as a National League Division Two team to compete for back to back promotions.”

Team captain Sean Seymour added: “What a fantastic season. It is only our second season competing in the National League and we have already secured a promotion.

“I’m really proud of the way the team has grown over the season, exceeding all the expectations we set out to achieve as a squad, especially against some very strong opponents. We are all really excited to represent Peterborough next season in Division Two and hope we can, once more, surpass our goals.”

Peterborough Harriers Volleyball Club is open to players of all ages and skill levels, and welcomes interested players to the weekly training sessions held at the Voyager School in Walton on Tuesday (open to all, skills-based training), Wednesday (advanced ladies session) and Thursday (advanced men’s session) at 7.30pm each night.
