Peterborough City Rowing Club returned from the Lincoln Head of the River race with four winners.

The women’s Masters D eight, a composite crew including City’s Jo Canton, Haley Marsters and Bridget Lloyd, won their category and produced the fastest time for a women’s eight on the day.

The Masters D coxless quad of Steve Hodge, Pete Orme, Neil Elder and Ruairi Moore beat their Masters C opposition by almost four minutes, taking just under 13 minutes to complete the course.

The Women’s Masters E double of Joan Heath and Anita Carter saw off the Loughborough double with almost three minutes to spare.

The victory trail was completed by Ian Davis and Pete Dolby, who won in the Masters D coxless pairs against three other crews.

Jack Ward and Phillip Adkins were unlucky to come second in the Masters C/D/E doubles, missing first place by only twelve seconds.

John Bishop also took second place in the Masters F/G single sculls with a minute and a half separating the scullers.

Ruairi Moore, John Cameron, John Long and Alec Whitehead-Smithson also came second in the IM2 coxed fours to a strong Nottingham Rowing Club crew who produced the fastest time of the day.
