An Italian job well done for PACTRAC pair

Two PACTRAC members competed for Great Britain in the 2015 Middle (half-ironman distance) Distance Triathlon European Championships in Rimini, Italy at the weekend.

Giles Cooper came 11th in his age group, while Paul Jephcott was 17th in his.

The event involved a swim of 1.37 miles, a bike ride of 58 miles and a run of 13.1 miles.

Cooper clocked 5:27:42 and was fourth Brit home and Jephcott was seventh Brit to finish in 6:41:09.

In last year’s Middle Distance European Championships in Majorca Cooper was 10th and Jephcott was 16th.

PACTRAC results at the St Neots NiceTri aquathlon, swimming and junior races:

Swim 3000m: 5 Andrew Chapman 1:02:58 (age group 2nd).

Swim 1500m: 5 Simon Guerin 32:00 (age group 2nd); 9 Michael Shadwell 36:23 (age group 2nd); 22 Sue Davys 52:37 (age group 2nd).

Sprint Aquathlon (swim 750m, run 3 miles): 1 Nathan Tweedie 29:42 (age group 1st).

Standard distance aquathlon - swim 1500 metres, run 6.25 miles: 6 Abi Schofield 1:12:20 (age group 1st and 1st female); 25 Andy Rawlins 1:28:17 (age group 4th); 26 Laura Johnson 1:28:35 (age group 2nd); 31 Wendy Coxshall 1:32:32 (age group 1st).

Junior TriStar 1: 7 Olivia Corner 12:06.

Junior TriStar 2: 5 Katie Tasker 14:45.

Junior TriStar 3: 4 Matthew Wouldham 18:02.
