Alex Mill, from Orton Wistow, has been crowned Silverstone Junior Rally Championship winner for the second year running.
He clinched the title with his co-driver Ian Pepper by winning the final event of the year - the Rockingham Stages at the Rockingham Motor Speedway in Corby.
He finished the five-stage event in his Micra two minutes ahead of second-placed driver Alex Verdon.
Former King’s School pupil Mill, who has just turned 17, also won the Wolds Rally at Ludford Airfield in 2014, beating several adults in the process.
Mill, who has been training at the Silverstone Rally School since he was 13, will this year be too old for junior racing and will progress into a 1400cc championship, where the competition will be much stronger.
This year he will also be studying for a BTEC in Motorsport Engineering at Warwickshire College, a career which he hopes to pursue.
RN Motors in Orton Southgate have provided Mill with valuable support over the past two years in terms of work experience and mechanical assistance, fitting various specialist parts as well as maintaining the stage rally car in between events.
Mill said: “I’ve really enjoyed my time with Silverstone Rally School and recommend it to anyone with an interest in the sport who is looking to get started at rallying.
“I’d like to thank everyone who has helped me over the past few years, especially my family for putting up with numerous cold weekends standing around at airfields and racing venues, as well as my sponsors RN Motors and Power Maxed Racing.”
