LINCS PREMIER DIVISION: Market Deeping on the march after dramatic last over
Deeping reached the last over of a truncated game against Grimsby at Outgang Road requiring four wickets to beat their visitors, or, more likely, to stop them scoring the 10 runs required to reach their victory target of 195.
But seamer Lee Peacock took a wicket with his first ball, two more with his fourth and fifth balls and Deeping were convinced they should have had another from the final ball when appeals for a catch and a run out were turned down.

Hide AdPeacock thought he had his man caught behind by wicket-keeper Jamie Morgan, but Morgan was also convinced he then executed a run out that went unseen by an umpire possibly distracted by Peacock’s mighty appeal!
“It was frustrating,” admitted Deeping skipper Dave Gillett. “But it was a great game of cricket and with the other games being rained off we have still gained 11 points on the rest.”
Grimsby looked set for an easy win when reaching 123-1, but Aussie off-spinner Zac Simmonds (3-28) bowled beautifully to enable Peacock to have his fun at the end.
Gilltt struck a quality unbeaten 78 of Deeping’s 194-8 in their reduced overs allocation of 32, and received most support from Ashley Fisher who made 26, including 22 from the first six balls he faced. Fisher went .6..646.
