Last year Lorena, who is sponsored by Mad Dogs Clothing, won a British Championship gold and picked up two silver medals at the World Games and that earned her enough votes to win the Junior Sportswoman of the Year prize in the 2015 Peterborough Telegraph Sports Awards.

She’s also doing well this year. Apart from the win in Rugby, she’s also won silver medals at the Watford Open national championships and the WMO British Championships and at the first Peterborough Series competition of the year she won three first-place trophies fighting in advanced sections in her own weight category and a weight category above.

Lorena has also recently turned her hand to boxing as well as kick-boxing.

She trains at the Whittlesey Amateur Boxing Club two nights a week and has set her sights on boxing at the Olympic Games when she is a bit older.
