Jack COPS medals galore at the Dwarf Games

City of Peterborough Swimming Club (COPS) member Jack Anderson won a stack of medals at the national Dwarf Games held at the Cheslyn Hay Centre in Birmingham.

More than 150 competitors from the UK and Europe competed in the games which are sanctioned by the Paralympic Association and are organised annually by the Dwarf Sports Association UK (DSAUK).

Alongside swimming at the games there were track and field disciplines as well as sports like basketball and hockey.

Ten year-old Jack competed in the 14 years and under category and won a total of 13 medals with four golds for archery, javelin, discus and the 40m run, six silvers for football, basketball, cycling, the 60m run and the 50m backstroke and 50m freestyle, and three bronze medals for hockey and the 25m backstroke and butterfly.

Double Paralympic gold medallist Ellie Simmonds, who is a patron of the association and has competed at the games herself, was there to present Jack with his swimming awards.
