It's a great weekend away for Kelk

JVAC fished their '˜weekend away' fixture at Messingham Sands Fishery where weights were a little lower than expected.

Guy Dew took first place on day one with 30lb of silver fish and a few big carp for 80lb 12oz. Runner-up with 79lb 5oz was Chris Rose, followed by Ray Pauly on 74lb 7oz.

The fishery came to life on the second day and the top three were Andy Kelk (134lb 12oz), Lewis Jennings (105lb 5oz) and Lee Kendal (92lb 7oz).

Kelk was overall winner on seven points with Peter Molesworth and Lee Kendal joint second on nine.

It was a depleted field for the JVAC match at Yew Lake at Decoy for members that did not go away.

Paul Faulkner won with a massive 202lb 15oz from peg 19 catching on paste. Runner-up was Chris Saunders with 183lb 2oz, followed by Nick Carlton on 154lb 12oz.

DEEPING

Deeping St James fished the final round of the Wade Cup series and also the Pairs Cup on Decoy’s Horseshoe Pool.

Ray Torrington ran out a comfortable winner from peg one with 97lb 13oz.

Second place went to Jon Bowland on peg 16 with 78lb 14oz and third was Rob Upex on peg seven with 77lb 11oz.

After the three rounds Bowland clinched the trophy with a total of 371lb 8oz with Rob Upex a close second with 370lb 13oz.

The winners of the Pairs Cup were Bowland and Tony Johnson with 146lb 3oz.

OVER 55s

The Decoy Over 55s match on the Yew Pool was won by Chris Saunders on 174lb 4oz from peg 22 followed by Denis Sambridge (138lb 7oz) and Steve Dorks (133lb 15oz).

FENLAND RODS

Fenland Rods fished the Cedar Pool at Decoy and top rod here with a massive 250lb was Kev Lee fishing with cat meat and catching all day from peg 26.

Runner-up from peg 18 was Mac Campbell with 189lb 15oz, again fishing meat, then came John Smith in third place with 186lb 2oz.
