Peterborough Phantoms have handed Robert Ferrara a return to their roster as part of a double transfer swoop ahead of today’s (January 31) transfer deadline.
Defenceman Ferrara has spent this season playing for the lower-level Peterborough Islanders team, but did figure for Phantoms in the fine away triumph at Swindon in the English Premier League last weekend.
He is now back in the Phantoms fold alongside brothers James and Luke on a permanent basis for the remainder of the campaign.
Player-coach Slava Koulikov has turned to the 24 year-old, who has represented Phantoms in six previous seasons, due to James Hutchinson’s continued absence through injury.
Phantoms have also brought in netminder Greg Blais. The 34 year-old Canadian has been with Elite League side Fife Flyers this season.
Blais, who has also played in Norway and France in addition to stints with Isle of Wight, Telford, Hull and Cardiff in the UK, will act as an import back-up for first-choice goalie Janis Auzins.
Phantoms entertain table-toppers Telford at Planet Ice tonight (7pm) ahead of a trip to bottom side Bracknell tomorrow (February 1).
