Golden boy Scott Robson is celebrating World Championship glory.
The Phantoms defenceman was part of the Great Britian Under 20 squad which blew away the competition to claim Division 2A glory in Estonia last week.
GB clinched overall success and promotion to Division 1B level next year with a game to spare after seeing off Holland 4-2, Lithuania 5-4, Romania 5-2 and then sinking Korea 5-4 following a penalty shoot-out.
Those results ensured the title was already in the bag ahead of a 3-1 triumph over the host nation in their last outing.
Robson, playing at Under 20 level for the final time, said: “It is a great feeling to win a gold medal at a major event.
“We went into the tournament believing we could win it and we performed every night to make sure that happened.
“We have a great bunch of guys and it was a brilliant experience.”
Robson will return to English Premier League action when Phantoms entertain Manchester Phoenix at Planet Ice on Saturday (7pm).
And he hopes to slot back into action with a win as the city side continue to prove their doubters wrong.
Robson, snapped up in the summer from Hull, said: “I’m enjoying my time at Peterborough. We have a great unity and a lot of talented players.
“We’re doing well and it is just a case of continuing to pick up wins.
“A lot of people have doubted us but we are proving them wrong.”
