Peterborough Phantoms star wins a top award

Peterborough Phantoms’ star Tom Norton has been named ‘Defenceman of the Year’ in the National Ice Hockey League.

Norton was nominated in the final three, alongside Telford’s Corey Goodison and Basingstoke’s Adam Jones.

But 20 goals and 35 assists, alongside a consistently solid defensive performance, sealed the award for Norton.

Norton’s points included nine powerplay goals, three two goal games and five equalisers as he cruised to being the highest scoring defenceman in the league.

Norton has already committed to playing for Phantoms again next season.
