Luke Ferrara insists being part of one trophy-winning team has made him even more determined to star for another.
The local lad got his hands on the Elite League title after helping Sheffield Steelers to glory.
He featured in their side for a championship-clinching victory over the Cardiff Devils last Saturday night.
Ferrara has dressed on 22 occasions and struck two goals while on a two-day deal between the top-flight big-guns and Phantoms.
But now his full focus is on helping the city team chase glory in the English Premier League play-offs as they prepare to face Swindon Wildcats at the quarter-final stage this weekend.
Ferrara said: “It really was a great feeling to be part of a title-winning team in the Elite League.
“I’ve been lucky to get ice-time with Sheffield and it has been a great experience for me.
“Winning something was just a huge bonus on top.
“It gives me even more motivation to now help Phantoms win the play-offs and we cannot wait to face Swindon.
“Both teams have showed they can get results in each other’s rinks so I’m sure it is going to be an exciting quarter-final.
“But we are really confident we can come out on top over the two legs and get to Coventry.”
Ferrara is thrilled with the progress made by Phantoms in the current campaign as they have left the doldrums behind to claim a top-four finish in the EPL standings.
The 21 year-old has contributed 44 points to their fine campaign by scoring 24 goals and having a hand in another 20.
He added: “It has been a massive improvement on the past couple of seasons and everyone has worked so hard to make it happen.
“We have a great bunch of guys and it means a lot to every single one of us to finish fourth in a very tough league.
“Hopefully we can now finish it off by winning the play-offs.”
