The city outfit had to bring forward their NIHL Autumn Cup clash with Telford from Sunday to Saturday last weekend. It subsequently attracted a low attendance.

Now they must now entertain Sheffield a day earlier than expected in the same competition next weekend. They now host the Steeldogs on September 29 before going to the Steel City the following day.

A spokesman for the NIHL league management committee confirmed: “We would like to offer our apologies to Peterborough after the confusion caused the issue of an inaccurate fixture schedule to some clubs.

“A couple of errors were made involving Phantoms’ Autumn Cup fixtures and whilst their opponents were always sent the correct dates (which never charged from first draft onwards) Peterborough were misled about a couple of their home dates.

“By the time these errors were noticed it was no longer feasible to make any amendments, which is why Phantoms have had to make late notifications of game changes to their supporters.”

Phantoms recorded home and away successes against Telford to make a fine start to the season last weekend.
